Relay modules from ELESTA

ELESTA relay modules are indispensable components for safe control systems in modern electrical engineering and automation. As coupling relays with forcibly guided contacts, they form the bridge between the electronic control system and the loads to be switched, thus ensuring safe integration into the safety circuit. Thanks to this feature, they are used in various areas of functional safety, for example in industrial automation, transport and traffic engineering and medical technology.

What are relay modules?

Relay modules are coupling relays with which feedback circuits and load circuits can be galvanically isolated and both the load and signal circuits can be monitored. The galvanic isolation between the control and load circuits ensures that no electrical interference can occur between the load and signalling circuits, e.g. high voltages. They are a simple solution that eliminates the weaknesses of relays with sockets in functional safety applications. Relay modules with their robust housings can be conveniently mounted on standardised mounting rails in the control cabinet.

Relay modules from ELESTA not only consist of the central relay with forcibly guided contacts, but also include a protective circuit with a TVS diode on the coil and an LED status display. The integrated TVS diode suppresses overvoltage pulses when the coil is switched and at the same time ensures a short drop-out time for the switching contacts.
