ELESTA sensors - Optical Encoder
Optical encoder systems, whether as incremental or absolute encoders have become the standard for speed and position detection of mobile systems. We have used our experience in micromechanics and sensor development and developed a high-precision encoder system.
ELESTA incremental encoder
This is a 3-channel optical encoder system consisting of a sensor module with connection cable and a code wheel. Outstanding features are the surface geometry of the code wheel and the specific construction of the sensor module. Thus, the well-known reflected light method is implemented innovatively and efficiently. The resulting properties make it available for a wide range of applications:
- extremely low power consumption
- accurate close tolerance output signals
- high signal edges and output capacitance
- extremely small designs with high resolution
- can be easily integrated into customer systems
Areas of Application
Small designs allow for integration into mini- or micro-motors or other small housing types. To the patented ELESTA-System rotational speeds of well over 100,000 rpm present no problem. For this reason the system is appropriate for high-speed engines. Apart from speed measurements, because of its extremely low tolerances the system is highly suitable for applications where exact length or angular measurements play a role.
The ELESTA encoder system meets the increasing demand for robust construction, further miniaturization and effective use of energy. As a set, the encoder system can be easily integrated into customer applications. Under certain conditions, we can adjust the encoder system to customer requirements.
